Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
God has the power to move mountains, part the waters, calm storms, heal the sick, feed thousands from a few scraps of food, and raise from the tomb, our beloved Jesus. God also has the power to continue the ministry of Camp Inspiration Hills. Through countless donations from many churches we collected over $10K in October ($6K of that from Eastwood contributions) and we project about that same amount in November and December. We have received proceeds from: special offerings, bake sales, spaghetti dinners, pancake breakfasts, silent auctions and many other events. In addition, the district board on November 5 decided to contribute $40K from the Hottle endowment fund to the Camp. This one time contribution is to pay any past due bills. If the church donations continue, we are cautiously optimistic we can bridge the financial gap through February 2012.
The CAC remains tenacious in controlling our expenses and increasing revenue as we strive to work toward a balanced budget in 2012. We will likely have a shortened camping season in 2012 with limited access in the cold winter months. We are calculating our cash flow throughout the year to ensure large semi-annual commitments can be met. Capital improvements will be scrutinized and evaluated for purpose and return on investment. Salaries and wages will be monitored and held to the 2012 budget.
Throughout the district the cry has been consistent...do not let the camp fail. This special place God has bestowed upon us will continue to be a place for His hand to touch all that enters.
Looking ahead, there are additional ways you may consider helping the camp:
Schedule a committee or social luncheon/dinner ...we can accommodate your needs!
Looking for a family or church retreat?— we may have just the place for you.
Looking for a place to use your skilled or unskilled time and talents?
Looking to be a part of one of the camp sub committees?—Maintenance & Development, Summer program, Fund-raising, Chicken BBQ.
Ensure the camp has a permanent endowment fund...consider Inspiration Hills in your estate planning.
If you would like your contribution dollars toward a specific camp improvement...we have a long list to choose from!
Come to the 1st Annual Breakfast with Santa, Dec. 10 at the camp—pancake breakfast complete with live nativity scene, crafts for the kids, shopping corner for Mom and Dad, Christmas carols and Mr. & Mrs. Clause too!
